Candriam demonstrates its support of university education by becoming a sponsor of the Management of Sustainable Development Goals MSc, created by LUMSA, the Catholic University for the study of Law, Economics and Human & Social Sciences in Italy. The new program kicks off in January 2017, in Rome. The aim is to train experts in a new set of concepts compliant with the principles governing (a) United Nations Agenda 2030 for sustainable development and (b) Pope Francis’s "Laudato Sì" encyclical. This is a major challenge necessitating a new vision for society (in general), for the planet and for prosperity. The teaching, spread out over the year, will be focused on the challenges raised by global warming, the depletion of natural resources and population growth. The MSc (Master of Science) will provide the knowledge and skills required to undertake new and future functions associated with these issues, the principal aim being to integrate environmental and social criteria into companies’ and organisations’ sustainable development policies.
Candriam will now be able to demonstrate its credentials to the United Nations, the World Bank and the Holy See. This MSc also gives us the chance to spot international talents in the student body and among already seasoned professionals from all backgrounds. In the words of Matthieu David, Head of the Italian branch, "Conviction and Responsibility – two values included in Candriam’s very name – are equally two of the objectives of this Master’s degree. In sponsoring an ambitious, educational project that is very much in line with our social and environmental commitments, Candriam has pinpointed another practical means of helping the community."
In the process, Candriam confirms its commitment to pursuing its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives.
